Smart Color Sampling Algorithm

Color CEO doesn't just pick random pixels. It uses a two-phase sampling strategy to guarantee a diverse, visually meaningful palette from any image.

  • Phase 1: Sample the image at a 12×12 grid (144 points), capturing the full tonal range
  • Phase 2: Pick the most vibrant (highest saturation) color first
  • Phase 3: Use farthest-point sampling in LAB color space to maximize perceptual diversity
  • Near-duplicate and transparent pixels are automatically filtered
